VISITING, DIRECTIONS, PRODUCE and CATERING
Guided Tours with detailed explanations of the mill and its workings are available whenever the Miller or a volunteer is available (advance booking recommended).Self guide tours also available (children must be accompanied by an adult). Walk through the different floors and learn a little of the history of Tuxford and the Windmill. Discover the Meal Floor with the tentering equipment and governors; The Stone floor with the mill stones and their furniture;The Bin Floor with the Sack Hoist; and to the top for a close-up view of the wind-shaft, wallower, brake-wheel and turning gear on the Dust Floor. Also check out the “engine-pit” which housed a steam engine up until the late 1920’s. We welcome school and educational groups for tours plus snacks; or build a day out to suit your class needs. The beautiful, peaceful grounds feature mature trees and gardens – the ideal spot for a morning coffee, or a quiet afternoon picnic – by prior arrangement.

Directions: From the A1 heading South: Take the 3rd exit (Tuxford) Head south for approx. 1.5 miles The windmill will be on your left before entering Tuxford. From the A1 heading North: Take the Tuxford exit Continue into the town centre Pass the Newcastle Arms on your left (you should see the windmill on the hill in front!) Catering: We cook and bake everything for our Tea Room using our own flour, local produce, and the finest ingredients. You can enjoy the following: Filled Rolls, Old Fashioned Hearty Soup, Jacket Potatoes, Selection of Cakes, Cream Teas, Toasted Tea Cakes .All washed down with freshly ground coffee or refreshing tea – Fairtrade of course! We also bake to order – please call to discuss your needs.
Events : Events are posted on the website. We can arrange special events for groups such as: Wedding receptions, Group Tours, Car/Cycle/Steam rallies, Fund Raising events (Pig Roast, Ceilidh etc). Call or e-mail to discuss your idea – we are always open to suggestions!!!
