Tuxford Windmill, Nottinghamshire

Tuxford Mill Exterior Wheat Field by Jonathan McGuinness

Built around 1810, the site cradled a tower mill and a post mill, which were known as Tuxford Twins.  The tower mill survived the changes and happenings of the 19th and 20th centuries, and following its award-winning restoration in 1995, it was purchased and established as a privately owned heritage business in 2005.

The Mill uses organic grains mainly, which are grown in Lincolnshire and Leicestershire, and milled by its Master Miller and owner.  Tuxford Windmill produces wholemeal (wholewheat) and sifted (white and nearly white) flours, as well as a variety of blends using their freshly milled flours. Their produce is available for sale from their onsite shop, Farmers Markets, and several regional outlets.

The business also offers baking classes, educational visits (adults and schools), and wedding receptions.

Please refer to their website for further details.
